Bethesda game director and executive producer Todd Howard
debuted the below trailer showing new Skyrim features developed by Bethesda
employees. None are guaranteed to see release, but among the concepts shown
there were dragon mounts, seasonal foliage, new enemies, and all-new weapons
and skill trees. Other features seen included Kinect shouts, building houses,
adopting children, kill cams for ranged attacks, paralysis runes, moving
platforms, running water in dungeons, flaming horses, mounted combat, fat
giants, werebears, and more.
The new features are the result of Bethesda's annual “game
jam,” a week-long event where employees are allowed to develop anything they
want on company time provided they follow a certain theme. This year, the theme
merely asked employees to develop things that could be implemented in Skyrim.
